The U.S. Mint is honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026 by releasing a variety of two-piece sets celebrating classic numismatic designs. Among them is the Mercury dime, designed by Adolph A. Weinman and produced from 1916 through 1945. The Mercury dime is being resurrected in the Best of the Mint series, a semiquincentennial special release that reissues beloved American designs on 24-karat gold coins alongside silver medals inspired by the classic motif on their golden companions.
