If Time magazine had existed in 1815, it would have named Arthur Wellesley Man of the Year. Arthur who? You probably know him better as the Duke of Wellington, Prince of Waterloo. He earned those grandiose titles in 1815. He defeated Napoleon s generals in Portugal and Spain and invaded France. He then led the Allied armies to a hard-fought victory at Quatre Bras and captured positions on St. John s Hill, east of Waterloo.
