US Mint Sales: 1776-2026 Half Dollars Open Near 9.5M

With its May 31 weekly sales report now available after an atypical delay, the U.S. Mint has posted first totals for two closely watched 1776 ~ 2026 Semiquincentennial products: the Enduring Liberty half dollar and the Enhanced Uncirculated American Gold Eagle. Together, they accounted for the Mint’s three best-selling numismatic products of the week.
Released on May 28 for $5,370, the Mint’s first enhanced uncirculated gold coin, shown in detail in CoinNews photos, lasted less than two minutes before it was listed as “Currently Unavailable,” with a “Remind Me” option for alerts if more become available. Mint sales through May 31 placed its total at 7,139, or 95.2% of its 7,500-coin limit.
