World Cup Collection
May 20, 2026
Starting next month, North America will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In preparation for the highly anticipated event, the Monnaie de Paris has unveiled a collection of silver and gold coins.
Available in several denominations, the commemoratives share a common design. The obverse depicts a soccer player in the foreground kicking a ball. In the background are well-known buildings from the three host countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Canada’s CN Tower and the Rogers Centre Stadium in Toronto appear at left, and Chichén Itza in Yucatán, Mexico, is in the center. To the player’s right is the Statue of Liberty. The legend FIFA WORLD CUP 26 appears at far left, and FOOTBALL is inscribed above. The reverse, which is in full color on the silver colorized €10 coin, features the FIFA World Cup trophy in the center. The official slogan WE ARE 26 is in the background, with the denomination to the left and the French Republic’s initials to the right.
